A Sneak Peek of what's to come!

In just five more days we will be moving into this home. We cannot wait! I know there are alot of you out there who are dying to see the inside. This is a sneek preview of what's ahead. I have to keep everyone waiting I don't want to ruin the surprise by showing every little nook and cranny. And speaking of nooks this house has that. This is what i love about old homes. They are so full of character and surprises.

From the kitchen eating area looking into the dining room. The french doors really add oldness.

Ta da!!

A built in cupboard with glass front doors. This is the hallway to the other rooms. The kitchen cupboards are painted red which is really going to compliment my red toile.

The home has guest quarters with its own private bath. Here is the guest bathroom.
My guests will never want to leave. When they do this will be my own bath again. I love claw foot tubs.

The staircase is in its own little passage way.

This is the other way facing the staircase with built in book cases and cupboards. There is an ironing board already in the one cupboard. This little room reminds me of something you would see in a home in France.

My husband has laid claim to this room for his study. Love the ceiling !

Stainglass window on the front porch.

A tire swing for my son!

And look who was peeking through the bushes at me...

What do you think? I hope I intrigued you and you'll come back for more!

Pink homes for Pink Saturday!

When i found out it was Pink Saturday i just had to join in the fun. Pink is my favourite colour! I thought i would post some pretty pink homes. Surprisingly there are alot of pink homes out there! Must be some pretty laid back husbands behind these homes.
This home looks like its right out of a child's story book.

This home looks like its made of candy. Fun people must own this home.

And I am sure at least one of the interiors has this beautiful french daybed in it.

Happy Pink Saturday everyone...I will be busy moving boxes and furniture to the new home all
weekend and through till next Friday!!

The Pleasures of Tea

Is there anything more pleasurable or soothing than a nice cup of tea at the end of the day...or mid afternoon? Tea is such a refreshing beverage. It has the ability to heal and calm us. Some teas even claim to help us lose weight!! Unlike coffee, tea gives us the excuse to be elegant and use our best china. Lovely pastries and dainty sandwiches compliment tea so well. As children didn't we all love to have a tea party?

I'm on the lookout for another tea pot. Tea can be casual too. This is a simple but pretty white teapot.

This photo from Country Living shows the perfect afternoon tea party.

A perfect excuse to bring out your pretty cups and saucers!

And then for those who are serious tea people they can express it in their decor...

A teapot lamp...

For the formal tea drinkers...

Don't forget about the tea leaves! Since Victorian times women have been having their tea leaves read.

My favourite part at the end of the day is to relax with my cup of tea.

Even Alice enjoyed a good tea party!

Thanks for coming to my tea party!

My first White Wednesday!

My first white Wednesday! I guess you could say I'm becoming a true blogger...joining in the fun. For my first white Wednesday here is a photo of a white kitchen i truly dream of having one day!
My mother-in-law's white guest room with some of her white hobnail collection.

A white luncheon set with scenes of Paris on them. This set was given to me by a very dear friend who owns the most fabulous "antique barn shop" her "Green Barn Antiques" it is filled with so many beautiful treasures.
My lovely white kaiser vases made in Germany from my mother. They are placed on a beautiful hand made tablecloth from Italy another gift from my mom. I will have to show this tablecloth in another post. It really is a work of art.

This is truly romantic!!
A perfect place to lie down and read or just day dream...

And now i think it is time to celebrate my first attempt at White break out the champagne...that's in the white urn!

And let's cut a piece of this mouth watering cake!!

Thanks for coming to my first White Wednesday!!

Dreaming of a romantic home...

In just two weeks time we will be moving to our charming home in the country. I have all these ideas of how i plan on decorating . My vision of the home is to be romantic and enchanting. We have almost finished packing...

But i must say all this moving we have done is making me feel like a gypsy!

This laundry room really inspires me...

How about this for the guest room ...

or maybe this? But then my guests will never want to leave!

All my antique books will feel right at home in this old house.

Now to find this perfect chandelier for all the rooms...

Oh and did i mention the kitchen? A very french style kitchen would be perfect and just what i like.

The perfect slipped covered couch for my husband , son and the cat to lie on!

If only i could make the next two weeks go a little faster. My creativity cannot wait!!
