Family home...

I am back from Niagara Falls, Ontario.
It was a wonderful visit but way too short.
So many people to see in such a short time.
I planned on taking lots of photos but time
just got away from me  and
i still had not photographed all the things i planned on.

Here i will share some photos of my childhood home
that my mom still lives in.
This home my parents built 46 years ago..
(there now you know how old i am)
My Italian grandfather and uncle did all the brick
work. My dad also helped with the construction.
My mom was pregnant with me when they moved in.
This is the only home i have ever known.
That sounds strange and feels even stranger.

It is a double edge sword really.  I mean i am so attached to this home
it is part of entire life
When the dreaded day comes to say good bye
to it i will never ever be able to drive by it or
even look at it without feeling incredibly sick.
Weird because it is just a house.

But it is a house filled with so many memories.
Memories of me growing up with my big brother.
Pool parties all summer long. The entire
neighbourhood always at my house.
On and on the memories come forth...

The screen door here is an antique elevator door.
My mother does have an incredible eye for design but
i won't tell her that...she already knows.
She found that antique stain glass from an old house years ago
and had it installed when i was a kid. This was before
people thought of this type of design.
Yes , she has always been ahead of everyone.

Everywhere you look she puts detail everywhere...
I got over stimulated on my first day home
so much to see...

The clay ornaments here are new too.
Who would think to line them up like this?
Only my mother...

I freaked when i say this cement heart! I love hearts. It must be from
a grave or something. She snagged it a garage sale for heaven's sake!
Can I have it??

This is the side entrance to the house and back yard.
A few years after the house was built she made
her dad build her this brick wall with the iron gate.
No one did this back in the 70's. Our house
always stood out in the neighbourhood
and still does to this day!
My childhood home... beautiful as ever
and always ready to welcome me home...

Thanks for visiting

Niagara Falls, Ontario

The roar of the Falls is calling me home...
as many of you know this is
where i am from.
I have not been home in over three years...

I'm homesick
and have decided it is time to go home...
Our son is there right now
spending the summer with my family.
He's loving it!
Yes, i know it's been a hot as hell summer there
but he is not all!
He said he is tired of rain and cooler summers here...
me too.
No offence to my friend's of Vancouver Island.

I miss my family...girlfriends
the small town's of Ontario
the Italian bakery's...and delicious pizza that can only
be found on the border cities of
Buffalo/Fort Erie and Niagara Falls, NY/Niagara Falls, ON
miss the energy of the people
and the white
sandy beaches on the shores of Fort Erie...

These photos where taken by my girlfriend Cyndie
who is a Parks police officer...she took these photos
of them setting up the rope for the tight rope walker..
I would love to have been there for that!

So this is my little break until i

Hope you are all enjoying your summer...

Dream cottage

"Better joy in a cottage than sorrow in a palace..."

This would be my perfect home..
an enchanting romantic cottage by the beach!
(all photos courtesy of Pinterest)

Welcome to my dream cottage
and let me share with you
what i envision it to look like...

Pretty pinks and whites
with lots of roses in the interior...
i love the softness of this room.

The kitchen would have all white glass front cabinets..
and lots of subway tile..

On my wish list
is this gorgeous chandelier
for over the dining table..

In the powder room this beautiful
pink wallpaper for the walls...

The main bath must
have this vintage claw foot tub
for those evening soaks and pleasures!

and to end the dream
this soft and calm bedroom.
Blues are something my hubby would not object too.
Sweet dreams!

Thanks for visiting my dream cottage...
Hope to visit all of you soon!

My appreciation for

Going for a walk with my Pilot girl
a very long
country road.

This is what i appreciate...

Two kitties...
one napping the other
watching me take his photo...

An old barn...
and wire fencing..

Don't you just feel God in the details?

Take time to appreciate your world
and watch the magic happen...

My girlfriend emailed me
a post from Cote De Texas...

I just had to share this inspiring living room.
What got me right away
were the curtains!
I have similar ones...

This is going into my inspiration
folder for when we buy a home...

What do you think?
Love the hit of colour!!

Here is a glimpse of mine...
I just need to do that puffy thing
at the top!

This is a very old photo from
our home in Niagara Falls...
I even have the same table as in the above photo.
Funny how a room you have decorated
is similar to another one years later.

It's raining here today in the Pacific Northwest but I am not complaining since
they got hit with snow back home!!

The love is continued...

It seems i am not the only one out there
who is in love with this home!
These are the last
photos i have of it...

This is the husbands office. The only
room with strong colour on the walls.

Beautiful room ...the dark
walls please the man
so much that he is okay with the rest
of the home being how the woman wants it.
That's my take on it.
I know how most men are
they need a room for them.
Two more shifts and i am off for three blissful days!
Hope to get caught up with all of you!

Thanks for visiting!
