Pink to white in the kitchen

Hello everyone!
I have been living
with the previous owner's
pink back splash a little too long...
now I LOVE pink...but the
black splash was
really
getting
to
me!!
Noise pollution...it
was stressing me out.
I
spend ALOT
of time in this kitchen
and
it is a very dark room.
I know by this photo you see sun streaming in
but this is very rare and it is just a small area
that sees any day light.
I told my husband
that was it
I had enough ...I was going to paint it white!
I still had half a gallon
of paint
left from
Sam's room...
The colour
was just what
I
wanted...cotton fluff...perfect!
Every time I looked at this
diamond pink back splash
it reminded me of a circus...
not
the look
I want
in a
kitchen..
After...

It makes the kitchen so much
brighter
and expansive!
I
LOVE
it!

The best part
is it
feels
cleaner
to me...

Just a quick fix
made
a
world
of
difference
and now it
does not seem
so
dark !

What do you think?

Now if only I could get the walls painted....

Thanks for visiting
Pamela xo

  7. It makes a wonderful difference in your kitchen. Isn't it funny how something can bug us just so long and then it has to get fixed - NOW?

  18. Hello Pamela,

It looks great! It really does make a difference. I will be painting mine white again too. When the kitchen was painted last year, the painters painted my brick backsplash a caramel color but I have never really been happy with it and decided last weekend enough was enough!

    Have a great day!

  19. The white does look great. I never really noticed the circus tiles before, but now that you pointed it out, they were a little over the (big)top. I think the white allows your plates to be more noticable.

  20. yes, SO much better! I'm thinking the same thing as Vintage Gal... about the cabinets being white? and glossy -- it would reflect light and brighten things up even more!

  22. Love the tile painted white, you did a great job - but don't change the cabinets, the red is lovely. You could replace a few of the cabinet door panels with glass (I did this and love it) which also brings reflected light into the kitchen and takes away some of that big expanse of wood. I have my glassware and white china stacked behind the glass, not cans of food or ugly kitchen bits!

.........and, about adding a chandelier Pamela!!! I really am thrilled with mine in the kitchen - it gives so much sparkling light, such a difference than the old dull fixture.

Happy week - sending some of the warm sunshine to you!

  40. Hi Pam! Thanks for all the nice comments on my blog. I don't run across many Rosamunde Pilcher fans...I so wish she would write another book but I don't think she will. Great job on this backsplash by the way...it was really nice to meet you and I'm following you now. I have added you to my blog roll so I will be able to keep up with your new posts. The Bokeh thing was really fun...I'm struggling a bit with my photo skills but that was really easy. Blurry isn't very hard! Have a great rest of the day. Will chat again soon.
