Seashells

Yes i am still here and patiently waiting for some warm weather to arrive.
This has been a terrible summer for beach lovers here on Vancouver Island. Cold, damp
and grey skies have dominated this season so far. All across Canada people are enjoying
hot, sunny temps!

Everyday on facebook another friend or family member posts about another day at the beach
or simply states that they are cooling off by the pool...yeah rub it in!!

One thing about this awful weather is it makes going to work much easier when it's overcast and cold...

I guess there is some good to having a cool summer but at the moment i can't think of even
one ...
Well maybe i can like no pets being left outside to endure the heat or children left in cars...
why does this happen every year?

So until mother nature decides to turn this summer around for us here on the West Coast

I will be in my guest bath enjoying my shells and pretending I'm on the beach

in Palm Springs...

Until next time... send some heat to us islanders please...or

maybe I'll go on a vacation back to Ontario!

  1. Hi Pamela: Yucky winter, yucky spring and now a half hearted summer!!! There is a reason the trees are so big, it's all the rain the 'Wet' Coast gets. I feel like escaping to family in Ontario too. Let's make a break for it! tee hee Patty/Nanaimo

Here's wishing you some warm sunny weather and to us some cool rainy weather! Love your shell collection! Hope you have a wonderful and warm week!

  5. It is HOT in Texas!! TRIPLE digits for going on THREE weeks!!! What I would give for some 'sweater weather'......I know you are cold and wish the sun to shine on you and I would SO love to share our weather WITH you!!! At night it is still 100 degrees until the early hours of the morning. For some reason I have not been able to sleep and I must 'get up' at 7 so as to do my yard work while it it is the 8o's and 90's. Doesn't last long.....it hits 100 by noon.I think I will just STAY up and work on my quilt and projects and read until daylight. I would LOVE your weather! I cannot.stand.being.hot. But isn't it strange? We always love what we don't have? WARM wishes and blessings from TEXAS to YOU!!!

  7. OH Pamela, kinda be happy that it's not hot, we have not had any rain for at least three weeks and there is a heat wave going on here... So I'm not sure what is better. I hate the cold But this hot stuff is worse... I love for the windows to be open..Try and hang in there and have a good day.

  9. I will totally try and send you some of our heat Pamela. We have too too much. So much that you can't breath outside. Aren't we funny? Too hot, too cold, too wet, too dry. Of the joy of those 'perfect' days. sigh...

Hope you are having a terrific week friend!

  10. Well that's a yucky summer. Maybe it will turn around soon. But then you'd be stuck inside working when it's all sunny and everyone else is playing in the water. Come with me to Niagara and we can wave to each other over the border.

  12. My friends back home are all complaining too. I'm sure the heat will be there soon enough!! I used to always dread summers in Port Alberni as we would roast in 40 degree temps. Not this year, though!

  13. Ha! I am not sure that you would like to be in Palm Springs right now...my brother lives there and is MISERABLE it is so hot. I bet he would LOVE to trade places with you. Their pool is even hot.

    Your guest bath is dreamy.

  15. So sorry to hear about the bad weather you have been having! I think it has been unusually wet & cold in other places too...I know Edmonton has had a lot of rain and Nova Scotia has had a lot of rain this summer too....if that makes you feel any better! Are you working now Pamela? I hope your summer is going great otherwise! Angie xo

  16. Hello Pamela,

I wish I could send you some of our sun and warmth! It really is hard going to work every day knowing it is so beautiful outside and that I could be playing with my grandson on the beach.

Your shells look so pretty on the windowsill.

I hope you have a wonderful week despite work and the weather!

    Hugs,
    Tracy

  21. If I could send you some steam I would! We were close to 100 today and unbelievably humid. I went outside for about 10 minutes to look at my garden and had to come in. Miserable...hope the rest of your week gets a little warmer.

  22. I hear you, Pamela! Well, I guess it feels good to know that I am not the only one freezing this summer! It barely made it to 60 today, and I even turned the heat on, I was so cold! Back home in Michigan they are in the middle of a heat wave! And here I am all bundled up and pasty white, no tan for me this summer! So I'm packing my bags and heading to Palm Springs, too, haha! Love your shells by the way:)

  23. Not to rub it in dear, but am trying hard to divert our heatwave your way! We are back in triple digits this week, quite dangerous staying outside for long. I do a quick water of the desperate pots and special plants, then head back into the a/c. Mad rushes from car to wherever, the parking lots are red hot and even breathing can become labored.

Love your shell collection. Hope so much you will all get some pleasant Summer days very soon. I'm off for an early morning swim in the pool - can't even stay around there once it heats up!

    Hugs - Mary

Well, if makes you feel any better today, it's stupid hot out, as in, too hot to enjoy ANYTHING.

  27. Hello my friend,
I am so sorry that your summer has been so lousy! You could come to visit me in Winnipeg! We could go out and enjoy the 95* weather, or because I have central air we could stay in and just look at it out the windows, after we have visited the antiques market of course!
    Have a lovely day.
    Hugs, Cindy

  29. Such a pretty, summery posts though Pamela despite the cold! We have a similar luck in weather here in England, it even hailed on Tuesday! I've brought my cashmere sweaters out again and our poor cat is cuddled up to the Aga - in JULY!!!! But as you say some are suffering terribly in the heat, oh could we just have a little?!!! Hugs from an old farmhouse in England - Glenda xxx

  32. Wow we need to trade places for a little while! I believe we have now had 24 days in a row of triple digits with no end in sight. Looks like we will break a number of records this summer. That's hard to do when you live in Texas. I hope you have some warmth your way very soon. I love your sea shells!!!!
