Master bedroom

Hello everyone!
Our master bedroom is in great need of a new paint colour. The previous
person who lived here painted the room a deadly shade of "blue"... it drives me
crazy and makes me feel like i am at a hockey arena. She must have been
a sports fan of some kind. That's all i can think.

Here i have posted some gorgeous bedrooms courtesy of Pinterest. I can't decide
whether to go dark grey or light...
I love this first room...but then i would have to find this headboard!

The serenity in this second bedroom is wonderful. Minus the writing on
the wall...not into that. I know my husband would totally hate it and not
"get it!" But the angles are like the ones in my room and the large windows.

Love this black headboard against the stark white walls...
Here's a peak at my room... the blue is very strong. It will take alot coats and

primer i sure to cover.

She left the ceiling and low part of the wall white. Not sure if I should paint

the walls all the same colour. The room is not that big but gets lots of sun.

Which rooms are your favourite? What would you decide?

Until it warms up here i will still be deciding........

  1. Hmmmmm, can't decide. I love your white mirror, and your lamp... it seems like the windows need some softening... I couldn't tell if you have a headboard which would affect the whole thing. You should show the whole room and get all these amazing ladies out here to give feedback. I'm kinda leaning towards the color in the first photo... there are just so many options these days, it will make you crazy trying to make a choice!

  2. It is quite a hard decision - maybe paint one wall dark grey and the others a paler colour. I like your inspiration pics. Good luck x Sharon

  4. Pamela, I like the second one, and I like the writing, too. But if that is not your thing, you could either wallpaper or stencil for a similar look. I like the chandy in that photo, too.

All the inspirational photos are gorgeous, though, so you could not go wrong with any of the looks.

  5. Hi Pamela,
I love the last 2 photos, but all of the rooms are so lovely.
Your room is just beautiful. My new favorite color to use is a pale gray like Newsprint from Martha Stewart.
Hope you had a lovely Christmas and have a wonderful day!
    Sincerely,
    Melinda

  6. Hi Pamela,
It has been quite awhile since I stopped by, but it's delightful to see that you are just as I had remembered-- so very sweet. I recently redid my bedroom also. It, too, had dark walls. The angles of your ceiling are charming. I love the image with the dark headboard and loads of white. You could pick a soft, warmer white and paint the walls and angles and ceilings the same color. It would envelop the space is softness, which is perfect for a bedroom. With such strong architecture you don't need much to make this space perfect. Have fun with the redecorating! Take care.

  7. Hi Pamela, I'm a new follower of yours...I once had a very large lounge painted in this exact colour and it made me very depressed as it sucks the light out of the room. The dark walls also make the space feel small and 'tight'. It would look more appealing if it were painted a softer colour. Farrow and Ball have amazing paints that would complement your beautifully angled ceiling. Sharon.

  8. I do love that dark blue, Pamela. So striking with the white. And that tall quilted headboard -- scrumptious! Love the drama. It'll be fun to see what you come up with.

  9. Hi Pamela,
The second and third ones are my favorite, I think. But I crave light colors around me. That is quite the blue, wow! If it was my room, I would paint it a nice creamy white.:)

  10. Hi pamela! I like the lighter rooms. I think it gives a smaller room a larger feel, plus if you get sunshine in there I like the way the light reflects a warm glow on a lighter wall. Then use flowers or pillows for color. We are in Seattle now for a few days! Take care

  11. Funny thing is I just wrote a post on navy blue. It's beautiful but tricky for sure. I love it paired with white. I'm sure whatever you decide will look fabulous!
    Have a wonderful weekend!

  12. Hi Pamela, that is quite an intense blue! The ceiling angles in your room are so pretty and cozy. I like the last three room colors, I know you'll find the perfect shade.

  13. Wow, when you first were talking about the blue, I thought "How bad can it be?". Uh, that bad. That is very very bold and yes it does look like a sports team's colors. I've been thinking of painting my bedroom a light gray, but I cannot find a gray that looks right in there. They all look too blueish.

  14. love, Love, LOVE the third photo. I would wrap the colour all around the room including the ceiling. Just like mine. And you were the one that told me to do that. Very soothing.

  15. I'm late and you've probably already painted but I'd do all white. I am sure you have yummy linens that will finish it off!
