Good-bye Peach...Hello Gorgeous!!

When we moved into our home the living room was Peach. I hate peach. It has to be the worst
colour on the colour wheel. I really don't know anyone who likes this colour. No offense to the previous owner but gee whiz it is a really bad colour. After almost 2 months of enduring this colour i had enough. Yesterday i broke down and went to the paint store and purchased a better colour. This colour even looks worse in the photos.

I spent all day yesterday painting it out!
Look at the results...

Don't you feel calm just looking at the room? I wish you all could see it in person.
It is gorgeous!!! My husband and son agree.

All the moldings and the beautiful ceiling now stands out.

I've posted lots of photos for all of you because i am just so excited by this!!

All my collectables look so much nicer.

It was alot of fun rearranging everything. Tomorrow i will probably do something
different.

Let me know what you think of my paint colour. I can't wait to hear all your
comments!

  4. Hello Dear Pamela,
I love the change. Your walls color are very similar to my living room here as well, but instead of peach, we had grey.
You have to be proud to have a gorgeous house with a beautiful caracter!
Hope the sun is shinning and warming up your days in the beautiful Island.

  5. WOW!!!! what a difference. Beautiful. What is the colour? I had some girls over for a deck party tonight and I thought of you all night. I finally found a pic for my main floor bath. Totally not what I had intended. Very shabby chic and I love it.

  11. You have a beautiful home and it must give you so much joy to furnish it as you do. I love the color it's painted on the outside. I have a feeling your house may have been built around the turn of the century. Having grown up in a house like this in Victoria - it's my dream house. I think our house would be 111 years old now and it's still wonderful. There were 3 leaded glass doors - one from the front hall to the living room and two on either side of the fireplace from the living room into the dining room. Thanks for sharing your home with us!

  15. Oh the new colour is just wonderful! Doesn't it just make you smile to walk into those rooms now? They must feel more like you, more like home.

Your collectibles are showcased beautifully against the new colour. And all the white trim is so crisp.

  16. Hello Pamela -
I was so pleased you stopped by and left such s nice comment. Yes, your Sam being an animal lover should enjoy the photos from my African safari.

You live where I would love to live, Vancouver Island being one of my favorite places. I've spent time in Vancouver and Victoria and enjoyed every visit, my DH also. Took my granddaughter there a few years ago and she would love to go back. We have friends who own a condo in Victoria so we may rent it for an extended visit some year soon. Will have to look you up!

Love your blog and am enjoying reading about your beautiful home. Yes, the peach is best gone, what you've just done looks so much better in your lovely room - gorgeous ceiling!

We'll be in Canada week after next - other side though, Montreal and Quebec - not too far from your home! Hopefully we'll get some cooler weather, we are having horrendous heat here in central North Carolina - 100+ for almost two weeks, far too hot!

I have lots more African animals to share so hope you'll come back to visit!

  19. That is positively serene! I love the colour you have chosen. May I inquire what colour it is and where you got it? I would love to do my living room in the same soft tone! We even have a similar brick detail in our living room.
