Saying good-bye to a pet
is
the hardest
thing
to
do...
Our darling KACHINA
passed
away
through
the night...
To say I am heartbroken is an understatement....
KACHINA
was a purebreed
tortie-point
doll face
Himalayan
No she did not come from some high class expensive breeder...
She was just a Humane Society drop off...
No one wanted her anymore...she was tiny , scared and covered in fleas
when i got her...
Out of all our pets she has been the easiest and sweetest...
She had the cry like a baby...and she was a real flirt
She loved pillows ...here she found a great spot when we were packing the house.
of
all
she LOVED
my son....
We stayed for a couple of weeks with family
before we moved out WEST
she loved
her temporary home
and
she loved cousin Justin
Cuddles
were
all she
ever wanted...
Every day after school
she
would be
waiting for her Sam...
She loved
to listen
to
him play the piano...
Here she is showing
him
how much
she
loves him...
and he loved her too...
I miss you so much...

So sorry about your loss...but I'm glad you shared the love surrounding your sweet cat Karchina. She bought much love into your family and she was loved deeply in return.
ReplyDeletewhat a lucky kitty to have been rescued by a fierce advocate of animals.
ReplyDeleteOOOh Pamela!
ReplyDeleteI feel for you. We know how terrible it is to lose a family member.
I hope you had a little memorial. We always do and it helps a bit.
Did she just die while she was sleeping? Or was she sick.
Take care, from another lover of kitties.
Melissa
I'm so sad that you lost your baby kitty. She was lovely and I know she brought so much joy and love to your family.
ReplyDeleteHugs and love.

I'm so sorry about losing your cat. It must be so hard. That is why I never wanted a pet and now we have a dog - and an old one at that. I'm dreading when she passes away. I'm glad your cat brought such happiness to you and especially to your son.
ReplyDeleteOH Dear...Pam ..so sorry for your loss. Pets are the finishing touch in a home...or the start!...Colleen
ReplyDeletePamela, I am so sorry. It is so hard to lose a pet. They are such an important part of the family. I have lost many and it is always so hard to get through, but we do with time and healing.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Kim
Thank you everyone! She gave us so much delight...our other cat is really missing her.
ReplyDeleteThis is the thing i hate about having pets...they don't live long enough.
Pam- I am crying as I finish reading this. It is sooo hard to lose a precious pet...and I know that to many people they are just animals but to some of us- well, they connect us with that softer, gentler part of ourselves that sometimes remains closed. I lost my little MistyCat 2 years ago this Fall and I still miss her. She was just such a special kitty...and, yes, I have had other cats but none that compared to her.
ReplyDeleteI understand- xxoo Diana
Oooohhh I am so sorry! She was a little doll!
ReplyDeleteTake care!

Oh! So sorry to hear about your kitty!! It is very hard to read this because we have felt the same kind of pain. We lost our 12.5 dog about a year after we moved out here. We had a big family cry and I kept the kids home from school the next day because they were still so upset about losing Brandy. It is such a hard loss, but I like to think about the wonderful life they had with us. Take care and hugs to you! Angie xo
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry to hear about the loss of your kitten. She looks so sweet in the photos. Hugs.
ReplyDeleteOh Pamela, I am so sorry to hear about your sweet puss. Thinking of you and your Sam, he must be so heartbroken too, they looked like they were wonderful friends. Hugs to you ~ Tina xx
ReplyDeleteOh Pamela! It brought tears to my eyes to read this because I know the pain you are feeling at this time. I am so sorry to hear about your darling Kachina. It sounds like she had a full life filled with love.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Tracy
Oh sweetie, I am so sorry for your loss of such a beloved pet and family member! I lost both of my dogs within a year of one another and I know how heart breaking it can be. Pets are truly part of your family and are always there for comfort when you need it, and they never ask for anything in return but a scratch on the belly or kind and loving words, they are just so unselfish. I know your sweet soul will be watching over you and your family now and you will always hold her memory in your heart forever!
ReplyDeleteTake care!
Sincerely,
Melinda
There is nothing that compares with the love shown by an elderly cat. I am holding my own 14-year-old Amy now. May the love you had for Kachina give you peace and comfort you. Our beloved pets leave us far too soon.
ReplyDeleteI am so very sorry for your loss. As sad as it is to lose Kachina, take comfort that you gave her the very home she longed for. It is no coincidence that you found one another. I hope that she has crossed the rainbow bridge and is meeting up with Waffle (my only cat), Bonnie, Charlie, Martini, Buffy, another Charlie, Bitterman and Binkie. They are never with us long enough, and when they leave us we never ever forget them. I'm sending you and dear Sam lots of hugs.
ReplyDeleteLots of love,
Susan and Bentley

Such sweet memories! I am so sorry for your loss. It's so hard to lose a furbaby.
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry about the loss of your dear kitty... Our pets are such a part of our families.... It's such a hard loss....
ReplyDeleteWarm blessings,
Spencer
How are you and your family making out? I have been thinking about you because I know the pain many times over. After Larry died my 15 year old son could not sleep in his room for 2 wks because of his nightly routine he had with his cat was so painful. He slept on the floor in my room. How is Sam?
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful cat--you can tell by the pictures she is loved. It was really nice seeing her in all her beauty. May all the sweet memories you share with your family help to soothe your soul.

ReplyDeletePamela, I feel terrible I missed this post until now and you told me in an email! I hope you and your son are doing better.
ReplyDeleteHugs, Becca
So sad, I'm so sorry for you and your son. Hope you start to feel better soon.
ReplyDeleteDonna xx
I finally told Justin today what happened to the kitty. He put his hands over his ears and told me to stop talking and that I was making him sad "SO STOP IT RIGHT NOW!" God! It made me cry all over again. How are you and Sam doing?
ReplyDeleteLove Diane
Oh Pam, I am so sorry, I missed this post and I would not have known until I just read the newest post. Family pets are very special and necessary in a home, they bring a sort of peace because when you are giving them affection you are not thinking of 10 different things. He sounds like my cat, just there for the loven.
ReplyDeleteWe've all been through it and it's such a hard thing. Our memories of giving a loving home to a pet whom nobody else wanted are so special. Our Tiny cat lived with us 21 years, boy it was hard saying goodbye.
ReplyDeleteMy thoughts are with you all. Remember Kachina with happiness.
My heart goes out to you and Sam, sweet Pamela. Losing a family member can be tough and pets are (even more) faithful and loyal. It sounds like her time here with her rescuers was blissful and full of cuddles. I also had a Himalayan named "Baby" and I miss her dearly.
ReplyDeleteBig hug,
Jami
