More living room photos and a gift!I

Hello everyone!

I thought i would share more photos of my living room.

Recently i have

had some new followers (thank you!) and they missed previous posts on this room.

Last week i started a home staging course so it's kinda draining my creativity.

Don't get

me wrong i am enjoying it alot.

I seem to be flying right through it too...hope that's a good

thing.

When i have completed this course i have the great daunting task of trying to find

clients (or victims!) and since i don't know a soul here on Vancouver Island it's going to

be tough.

I sent an email to a Realtor who has this listing that's been sitting on the market for

quite sometime. I told her i would be happy to stage her client's home...it REALLY needs it.

Surprisingly she emailed me right back and wanted to know if i had any before or after photos

or a Website. A Website? Well i have a blog ? Does that count? So i sent her the link and told her my blog showcases my design flare, rearranging , making do with existing pieces etc... I never heard back from her.

Do you see that tag hanging from my candelstick holder ??

Here is a close up of it.... The lovely Cindy Adkins from Whimsical Musings sent this to

me for no reason at all! Isn't she the best?? I am so late in showing this off. But Cindy

i want you to know how much i love it! It has my initial on it too!!

This blogging community is the best!

Thanks for visiting...and if you know anyone here who needs their home staged

let me know!!

  2. Well, too bad you're so far away. My oldest daughter is a realtor in Oklahoma. She told me today she's got a lot of buyers looking and she showed eight houses yesterday. Then went and listed one. Well, I love your decorating skills. And I adore the shape of that room, as well as the windows!

  7. Good luck with the staging. I have no doubt that you are already good at it. A friend of mine was a stager and she had a problem getting realtors to use her abilities, don't take it as something you do wrong, more that they do not want to tell their clients that their home is not perfect and they may have to change something. Even though we may see a way to make it better, people selling their home do not always see it that way. I wish you all the luck.

  9. You should do very well with your new talent on the Island with all the beautiful homes to work with. You'll soon have people 'knocking down your door' to help them stage their homes. :-) Have a great weekend!

  13. Pamela, it's such a pity you can't commute! I would have a ton of clients for you in Cape Town! I think you would be brilliant at it. That realtor missed out on a great opportunity! Good luck - I'm sure it will all fall into place. x Sharon

  14. Hi Pamela,
I think you should offer to speak at a local realtors office to the broker and do a presentation on the importance of home staging for sales. You could have a professional looking brochure or handout printed up for them to give their clients with pricing and contact info. I did that after. You could also offer to do one free home for the head broker so he/she could see your work and then spread the word...good luck!!

  15. I meant to say give a talk to all the brokers (at their weekly meeting)

  16. Your house always looks picture perfect ready!! Where's your dust bunnies? Where's the cat hair on the furniture? Where the cat toys laying around?

Oh.... maybe that's just at my house.... ;)

    Happy Weekend Pamela!

  17. How fun Pamela! If we lived just a tad closer, I'd have you over for sure! I'm on my own here with the decorating and projects, my friends just don't "get" it... luckily for me though my hubby jumps in on whatever I wish to do. Your photos look great here as well and your blog makes a great business card.

  18. That'd be a really neat thing to get into - staging homes for sale. You could do so much to spruce up a house and make it a home someone would want to buy. Best of luck with that endeavor Pamela! :)

(She may have lost your email in a computor accident...just try!)
I love the bouquet on your bombe chest!

  21. I always love seeing photos of your home Pamela! You have some really great shots here, and I'm sure with some patience and time you will be working in the field you love! Once people see your talent with this, you'll probably be busy all the time! That tag is so pretty too. I love, love, love those windows in your house! I'm like Catherine...where's the dust bunnies and the cat toys! Oh yea, that's my house too! LOL!

  22. Hi Pamela,
I think you will do well if you can just get your name out there. Your home is a lovely example of your creative gift!

  24. I would love to take a home staging class and I know lots of realtors. But I think New England would be a tad far for you to travel. Good luck with it.

  27. Hey! I am catching-up on your blog. I would certainly enlist your help in staging my home...especially if I needed to sell it!!! :D

  28. I have done a little home staging and you are great...it's a lot of physical work (and mental). I wonder if you could offer to do one staging for free so she could see your work?

    ReplyDelete
  29. Your home is so charming! I will join the rest in saying to offer a free staging in order to get referrals. That was the only way I ever got in with a realtor. Most of my work came from flyers that I sent to the actual home owner. Speaking at meetings and networking is also a good way to get your foot in the door. And of course, everyone wants to see before and after photos. A portfolio is great to take around and show. Best of luck!!

  30. Hi dear Pamela.....your home photos are really quite lovely. Don't get discouraged about your little business you want to start. Just a thought...is there a little paper you might put an add in or a community bulletin board somewhere on the sweet little island you are on. Just me thinking out loud....good luck to you with this adventure.
